You are lazy
If you lazy, admit it and deal with it. No successful person has ever been lazy in the rise to success. Yes lazy people make good entrepreneurs as they always find easier ways of doing stuff, but then don’t be lazy putting that idea together and running with it. Stop complaining about everyone else’s success, and get up off your ass and do something about it.
You feel entitled
This is one of the biggest problems, especially in Africa. You feel you entitled to this or that, that others have worked for. Be more like those people and get out there and build your own empire. Getting something for nothing will not teach you the lessons and skills you need to be successful in your business or life.
You fear everything
You fear simply stems from the fact that you wonder how others will see you, or are seeing you, and what they would think if you failed. Who cares? Successful people don’t care two hoots what others think of them. They follow their dreams and passions.
If you fear making a decision, you need to realise that entrepreneurship is all about risk. Make and informed decision and then then take action, and if you not sure, speak to your mentor. You can not be successful as an entrepreneur if you fear making decisions and taking action.
The glass is always half empty with you. You surround yourself with negative people. Try for one week not say one negative thing but rather list 10 positives things you are grateful for every day and see how your life will change. Every successful person distances him/herself from negativity. Sometimes you need to make your circle smaller.
You over think stuff
You are always over thinking stuff. “What if”, is always at the top of your mind. What if the world ended tomorrow? Who cares, have you lived today to the best of your ability? Stop just thinking and start doing.
You have no goals
How often I come across people who really have no goals, let alone written them down and reviewing them daily or weekly. If you have no goals how will you ever program your subconscious to get what you want? How will you ever keep on track. Set a goal, and work it backwards to objectives, tasks and actions you need to take to reach those goals.
You think others control your success
You think others are in control of your success. What a load of rubbish. It starts and ends with you. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Take control of your life. You can do this!
You blame others for your lot in life
You love to blame others for your failures and set-backs. Ever think it was maybe the universe trying to teach you something to bring you closer to your goals. Successful people don’t blame others for their lot, instead they learn from their experiences and make their own life. You can’t bring the past into your future and expect success. Forgive, Learn, and move on.
You think you are not good enough
You think you don’t have what it takes to be successful. What a load of hogwash. Every person has what it takes to be successful, but very few ever choose to use the opportunities they have and pursue their dreams.
You are addicted to social media
You are on social media all the time. You are living your fantasy on social media instead of experiencing and making memories in the real world. It’s easier for you to live through other’s lives than your own. Guess what? Their lives on Facebook are more likely than not also a load of hogwash and not half as squeaky clean as you might think.
You think too small
If your goals aren’t big enough to scare you, they aren’t worth pursuing. Stop thinking small … if you think small you will miss big.
You don’t want it enough
You simply do not want success enough. You always making excuses as to why you can’t do something. You are simply not going to reach success until you want it enough. Remember there will always be a 100 little reasons as to why not, but it just takes that ONE good reason as to why you should do it that will help you reach your goals.
You don’t believe
I always say “Dream It! Believe It! Achieve It!” … if you do not believe you will have it, you never will. That’s a simple fact of life. Change your mind and you will change your life. Focus on your goals, meditate on it, envision it, they take action to achieve it.
You have done no business planning
Some people say you don’t need a business plan, but to me this as an important step on your road to success as it validates your idea and provides you step by step goals.
You don’t have a mentor
Mentors are extremely important for entrepreneurs, as these individuals can guide you, motivate you and ensure you reach the goals you set out for yourself whilst helping to avoid the many pitfalls entrepreneurs face on the road to success.
